Help us congratulate CMS's very own --Coach Ray Smith-- as he was recognized today as the Middle School Instructional Coach of the Year at the BASL year-end luncheon. In his three years as instructional coach at Cope, he has provided support and guidance for teacher and students, assisted with multiple and various instructional strategies and data collection, and loves big with his servant leadership style. We are SO proud of the way he represented Cope Cougars today! He is and always strives to be "theCopeDifference"!

As the 2025-2026 school year and Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, we are looking around our school with immense gratitude. To say we feel spoiled, supported, and celebrated would be an understatement. An incredible week and year like this doesn’t just happen; it truly takes a village. We want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who made this week and school year so special:
To our wonderful Parents: Thank you for the sweet notes, decorating the lounge, donating items from the sign up genius, the treats, and for trusting us with your children every day. Your kind words reminded us exactly why we chose this profession.
To our amazing Faculty & Staff: You are the heartbeat of Cope Middle School. The dedication, energy, and love you pour into our classrooms every single day is inspiring. You don't just teach; you shape the future.
To our generous Community Businesses: We are incredibly fortunate to be backed by local businesses that step up time and time again. Your generous donations, meals, and raffle prizes brought so many smiles to our staff's faces and fueled us through the week.
When our community comes together like this, it reinforces what makes Cope Middle School such a special place to learn, work, and grow. Thank you for recognizing the hard work of our educators and for making us feel so valued.
We are proud to partner with you all.
With deepest appreciation,
The Cope Middle School Administration Team

Our 8th grade Crawfish Boil was another BIG EVENT last week. This is the final fun day for our 8th grade class as they move on towards high school from us at Cope. It's a time of food, fun, and Cougar Family! Again, our students wouldn't be able enjoy this fun event without the planning, organization, and supervision of our 8th grade faculty. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT YEAR, 8th GRADE! We look forward to cheering for you as you transition to HIGH SCHOOL and beyond!

Our students dressed up in their best attire, their behavior was top notch, and it was a fun time with TONS of smiles! It's the Cope event that students remember forever! Students learn hygiene, table etiquette, line dancing techniques, and several other social skills needed to be successful community members. We can only post 10 pictures here, but we've included the link below so that you can take a look at all the smiles and greatness!

Yesterday was "Job Shadowing Day" for our CMS 8th grade students. These students LOVED their experience! They did their job shadowing at Barksdale Airmen Leadership School. They got to meet and learn about the airforce and their school program that turns airmen into supervisors.
8th graders who attended this job were Alma Tejeda, Julia Castellanos, and Hayden Swanger. Look at all that they were able to see!
