Dr. Budgewater and our CMS Choral Department students had their Spring 2026 concert last night. It was a huge success! Their talents and efforts shined on the stage. We are so proud of them! Dr. Budgewater is a huge asset to our campus, and we are so lucky to have him lead our choir students!

Our 7th graders participated in our co-curricular "Social Development Unit" this past week, and today was their big event at The Event Center at the Boardwalk! It was a HUGE success! Our students dressed up in their best attire, their behavior was top notch, and it was a fun time with TONS of smiles! It's the Cope event that students remember forever! Students learn hygiene, table etiquette, line dancing techniques, and several other social skills needed to be successful community members. We can only post 10 pictures here, but we've included the link below so that you can take a look at all the smiles and greatness!

The CMS 8th grade team celebrated students with no office referrals today by taking a trip to Surge! Bowling, games, and hanging out with friends is the great way to wrap up the last full week as a Cope Cougars for this 2026 class. We are proud of these Cougars!
Yesterday was "Job Shadowing Day" for our CMS 8th grade students. These students LOVED their experience! They did their job shadowing at Barksdale Airmen Leadership School. They got to meet and learn about the airforce and their school program that turns airmen into supervisors.

The Bossier Parish Target League had its Series Competion this month.
Cope’s 2026 Target team placed 3rd in the school target competition last week.
Brody Scott placed 2nd as an individual, and Clayton Scott placed 3rd as an individual.
Way to go, guys! We are proud of you both!

Congratulations to the Cope Middle School 4-H Club on an outstanding 2025–2026 school year!
Cope Middle School received 1st Place Outstanding Middle School 4-H Club for Bossier Parish. The club also earned the 100-Point Club Meeting Trophy for achieving 100 points at every club meeting throughout the school year.
We would also like to recognize several students and leaders for their accomplishments:
⭐ Richie Ton, Cope Middle School 4-H President, received 1st place for the Middle School Parish Dairy Poster Contest. Although she was unable to attend tonight’s ceremony, we are incredibly proud of her achievement.
⭐ Christian Tilley received the award for Outstanding Middle School 4-H Club Member for CMS.
⭐ Ms. Woodall, Mrs. Davis, and Mr. Dicken were recognized as Outstanding Leaders for the Bossier Parish 4-H Club at Cope Middle School.
We are so proud of our students and staff for representing Cope Middle School with excellence, leadership, and dedication throughout the year! 💚

Monday, May 18----CMS will distribute yearbooks. If you missed the yearbook sale, please bring $55 CASH on Monday to Room 6, Mrs. Wood's classroom to purchase a yearbook. First come, first serve until we run out of yearbooks.

CMS our Final Kona Ice visit for the school year will be Wednesday, May 13 from 10:30-1:00. Please note that this is the SAME day as 6th grade food trucks, 7th grade social development, and 8th grade Surge trip. Please do not pre-order electroincially if your student will be at any of these other events. Refuunds are not possible. If your student will be on the Cope campus on May 13, $5 CASH may be the best option for purchase due to the numerous activities occuring. All students are welcome to purchase, however, we don't want anyone to lose their money and not receive a snowcone because they are off campus at another event. Miss Cole’s 6th grade math class is rolling into probability—one dice at a time! Watching math come to life through hands-on fun has been the highlight of our day. Still learning by doing in class at Cope Middle!
