Tonight our CMS Basketballs teams hit the court against GMS.
Prior to the matchup, both teams met at half court to support and lift in prayer an injured GMS player . This show of sportsmanship and compassion is what makes us most proud!
7th graders put up a good fight, but came up a little short at the final buzzer. L Lewis 9pts, M Savannah 6pts, and S Heard 6pts. 26-36 was the final.
8th graders dominated 49-11. It was a great team effort!! J Boudreaux 12 pts, N White 7 pts, and J Guidry 7pts led the way with the most baskets.











Any CMS 7th grade student that is interested in trying out for the 2025-2026 Cheerleading squad…sign ups are open from Feb.3-7th. CMS cheer is for incoming 8th graders only. You can sign up through the school APP or with Coach Mosura or Coach Porter during your PE class. Sign-ups will close at 2:30 this Friday, Feb. 7th!

CMS 7th grade Parent Meeting TONIGHT for those attending the New Orleans trip! The parent meeting will be held in the CMS cafeteria immediately following the end of the 8th grade boys basketball game (around 6:30).

CMS - 5 days for $5......Students may pay $5 to wear special dress on 5 days during this semester. Money due THIS Friday, Feb 7th. Payments can be made via school cash OR cash to homeroom teachers no later than Feb. 7th. Students cannot make individual payments on each dress day. This Friday, Feb 7th is the first dress day where students can wear a team shirt/jersey along with jeans or sweatpants. All dress items should be school appropriate!

Our boys' basketball team travelled to Elm Grove Middle last night. We split the two games; 7th grade came up a little short 33-29; 8th grade earned another win 43-33.
Top scorers for our 7th graders include L Lewis 11pts; M Moore 4 pts; J Davis 4 pts. Top scorers in 8th grade were J Guidry 11pts; N White 9pts; S Schuler 6pts; J Perry 6 points.
Get ready for 2 home games next week-- Monday (vs GMS) and Thursday (vs HMS) our guys will be putting in the work-- come check them out! 4:30 in the CMS gym

CMS Boys Soccer Players will stay after school today for team pictures. Please pick up your student/player at 3:30 as they will be unable to practice after the pictures due to the weather.

CMS is hosting a TEACHER VS STUDENT game for each grade level on Valentine's Day (Feb 14th) to support the American Heart Association. $5 cash to your PE teacher; fee includes watching the games and free, appropriate school dress. All proceeds will go to the AHA. Concessions will also be sold during the games.
6th grade - 3rd and 4th hour - 9:08 - 10:45

CMS held our annual 🐝spelling bee🐝 today in the library. One representative from each grade level participated. We are so proud of the courage and commitment of these students. After several rounds of spelling words, Elise Johnson, Jordan Gaines, Ana Anaya, and Aaron Quimbaya were the final four participants. Elise Johnson, 8th grader, is our overall winner 🥇 ; and 7th grader, Jordan Gaines 🥈 is our runner up! 🐝These top 2 winners can participate in the upcoming Regional Spelling Bee at LSUS! 🐝 Way to go, Cougars!!

Our CMS Cougar basketball teams defeated BMS tigers tonight on the court! 7th grade won 44-23and our 8th grade team won 40-22! Leading our 7th grade team with baskets were S. Heard with 16pts, M. Moore with 10 pts, J. Jacobsen with 7pts, and L. Lewis with 5 pts! Our 8th grade point leaders tonight were J. Guidry with 14pts, A. Reed with 8 pts, and S. Schuler with 6pts. Our guys hustled up and down the court to get the wins! Congratulations to our players, Coach Csoma, and Coach Johnson! It was a great way to start district play!

Our CMS Archery team hit their marks at the Benton Bullseye NASP tournament this weekend. 7 CMS archers shot their PERSONAL BEST! As a team, they shot 67 tens 🎯and ended in third place overall. Congratulations! 💙🧡💙
